Prizewinning Podcast: Brave New Teaching

I came across the podcast Brave New Teaching (created by educators, Amanda Cardenas and Marie Morris) about a year ago and it has changed my life. Brave New Teaching offers K-12 educators information on a variety of topics such as classroom management, curriculum planning, diverse voices, lesson planning, organization, poetry, and much, much more. For instance, I recently listed to the 26-minute podcast, “To Teach Gratitude,” which helps teachers imagine how they can bring gratitude into the classroom. The author shares some creative bell ringers to help students reflect on the past, present and future.

Brave New Teaching also offers free professional development. I recently signed up to attend the Down with the Reading Quiz: Formative Assessment for a New Generation.

If you are an educator who likes to “challenge the status quo,” then I encourage you to check out this podcast. You can join the Brave New Teaching conversation on Instagram as well @bravenewteaching.
